Brindisi Riserva | Cantina Sampietrana
About The Producer
Cantina Sampietrana has been producing great wines in Puglia since 1952. The company cellar is located in the historic centre of San Pietro Vermotico, a small village between Lecce and Brindisi. Being a cooperative, the combined growers vineyard stretches over 190 hectares where in the main, Negroamaro, Primitivo and Malvasia are grown.
About The Wine
Brindisi Riserva was given D.O.C. status in 1979 and is produced from at least 70% Negroamaro with the rest being made up of Montepulciano, Sussumaniello, Sangiovese and Malvasia Nera di Brindisi.
Tasting Notes
Extraordinarily elegant on the nose, with notes of underwood fruit, dried herbs and dusty earth. Refined in oak it has a delicate and lightly tannic taste.

A lot of my favourite grapes in this one and a nice blending job by the producer. I can’t fault it. Served with roast lamb it was delicious but would have worked just as well with cheese or cold meats.
