Aglianico Beneventano | Vesevo

About The Producer

The Vesevo estate is situated in the high, mountainous area of Avellino, deep in the Irpinian hills of Campania and is one of Italy’s most exciting wine producing areas for white wine. The vineyards are situated at between 450 and 550 metres above sea level, and are always subject to a cool breeze that blows off the Bay of Naples. This same breeze has, over the centuries, blown volcanic ash from Vesuvius inland to give the soil here a volcanic character rich in minerals.

About The Wine

Aglianico is a Hellenic grape variety found in the south of Italy and best known for the Aglianico del Vulture DOC in Basilicata. The grape also prospers in Campania where it takes advantage of the volcanic soils that dominate the soils around Benevento and Avellino.

Tasting Notes

Ruby red with a violet rim this wine is complex and aromatic with a fragrance of red fruit and a slight vanilla essence. A little spice characterises this wine while it is well structured in the mouth with soft tannins and a long finish.
