Valpolicella Classico | Cantine Lenotti
About The Producer
According to an enological map dated 1906, the name Lenotti was already known in the past for the production of the classical wine Bardolino. At that time the farm sold wines exclusively in butts or demijohns. In the following years until 1968 the farm constantly increased its production of high-quality wines, by making wine from local grapes and supplying the numerous bottlers of the neighbourhood. Since 1968, the farm has been bottling and selling the wines directly with the main goal of supplying their clients with high quality products at competitive prices. For almost 40 years of continued increased sales, especially in the export markets, the whole production, that in the meantime has been widening the range of wines as well as their quantity, has been sold exclusively in bottle..
About The Wine
This wine is produced in the classical area of Valpolicella, north of Verona in the hills of Negrar, Valgatara and Fumane. It is a blend of 60% Corvina, 35% Rondinella and 5% Molinara. Coming from calcareous and argillaceous grounds of glacial and alluvial origin, the grapes receive a soft pressing before fermentation at 6-7 days under temperature control. 14 months of aging takes place in tank.
Tasting Notes
Intense ruby red colour, with a fine, fragrant and delicately ethereal bouquet of bitter almonds and red fruits. On the palate it is dry, full bodied and velvety with good length and balance.
