Amarone della Valpolicella Classico | Allegrini
About The Producer
The Allegrini family has attempted to improve the quality of their wines with respect for local winegrowing traditions, concentrating their efforts in the wine cellar and, above all, in the vineyard. The company philosophy has always been built on the idea that good wine is made in the vineyard and have therefore invested heavily in this area.
About The Wine
Corvina, Rondinella and Mollinara are hand harvested from south facing, stony vineyards in the Valpolicella Classico zone of Veneto. A drying period of around 100 days takes place to concentrate the sugars before fermentation. A lengthy maturation takes place in wood and bottle before release.
Tasting Note
Hints of smoke, tar and intense dark fruit dominate the nose. A big bold structure will support many years of cellaring, while a balanced integration will ensure this wine will continue to improve with bottle age.
