Montepulciano d’Abruzzo ‘Ancora’ | Adria Vini
About The Producer
Set up in 2003, Adria Vini is a winemaking venture jointly owned by Boutinot and Araldica Vini Piemontesi, the leading co-operative in Piemonte. All areas of production, from grape selection through to vinification, maturation, blending and bottling are meticulously overseen by Araldica's Claudio Manera and Lella Burdese.
About The Wine
Produced from selected parcels of Montepulciano grapes, from low yielding 30 to 50 year old vines in the Chieti province of Abruzzo. The warm and dry climate produces a healthy crop of excellent quality grapes, hand harvested in mid September. Cellared and matured in large old oak casks for 12 months.
Tasting Note
A medium-bodied, warm, softly spicy red with aromas of damson and dried fruits. The palate displays light redcurrant flavours, lightly smokey notes and red cherry fruit on the finish.
